STEEPLECHASING RETURNS to Camden with the Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup Races on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Invitations for the Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races are expected to be sent to those patrons on the race’s mailing list over the course of the next few days, according to officials with the event.The 44th edition of the Camden fall classic will be run on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Springdale Race Course in Camden.The gates to the course will swing open to the general public at 9 a.m. with the Salute to the Military kicking off at 11 a.m. The first of the six races will take the starters’ flag at 12:30 p.m.The afternoon of racing, featuring the $100,000 Colonial Cup (Gr. I), brings the curtain down on the 2013 National Steeplechase Association season and will likely be the deciding race in the chase for American steeplechasing’s Eclipse Award. In order for patrons from last year’s races to secure their same parking and/or grandstand box spaces, reservations must be made and paid to the race office by Oct. 11.Here is the information on all tickets and parking spaces for the Colonial Cup: General admission tickets: $20, if purchased by Nov. 8 and $30 after Nov. 8 and at the gates on race day).(Note: Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free, if accompanied by an adult ticket holder.)General admission parking: $10, payable only at the gate on race day.Infield parking: $135 per parking space, which includes two general admission race ticketsRestricted area parking (for oversized vehicles): $215, which includes a parking space and two tickets Front row paddock side parking: $265, which includes two general admission race tickets Grandstand box: $675, which includes premier seating at the finish line.
