Colonial Cup set for 45th renewal on Nov. 15

A sure sign that fall and cooler weather is around the corner occurred last Friday with the mailing out of invitations to those on the mailing list for the 45th annual Marion duPont Scott International Colonial Cup Steeplechase Races.
This year’s races will on Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Springdale Race Course in Camden. The first race will be run at 12:30 p.m. Races will be run in 30 -to 35-minute intervals.
The gates to the Knights Hill Rd. facility will swing open to the general public at 9 a.m. The Jack Russell Terrier trials will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the infield with the Salute to the Military kicking off at 11 a.m.
The afternoon of racing features the $100,000 Colonial Cup (Gr. I) which will be the fourth race of the day and brings the curtain down on the 2014 National Steeplechase Association season and will likely be the deciding race in the chase for American steeplechasing’s Eclipse Award.
Here is the information on all tickets and parking spaces for the Colonial Cup:
Advance general admission tickets: $20 until Nov. 1 and $30 after that date as well as at the gates on race day
(Note: Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free, if accompanied by an adult ticket holder.)
General admission parking: $10, payable only at the gates on race day
Infield parking: $135 per parking space, which includes two general admission race tickets
Pro Park (infield): $135 per parking space, which includes two general admission race tickets. New to the Colonial Cup for 2014, Pro Park will be a special section in the infield designed to be a “College Park all grown up” where alumni, their families and friends can reunite for the day while taking in the races in a relaxed atmosphere.
Restricted area parking (for oversized vehicles): $215, which includes a parking space and two tickets
Front row paddock side parking: $265, which includes two general admission race tickets
Grandstand box: $625, which includes premier seating at the finish line. Watch the races from the best seats at the race course, and dine with the winning owners and trainers in the Post and Paddock Club presented by Aberdeen Catery Luncheon Tent on the mound next to the Grandstand. Includes credentials for six box seats, admission for six to the “Breakfast with KershawHealth” in the Grandstand Pavilion, six VIP Hospitality Luncheon Tent credentials, admission for six to the Winner’s Reception after the races in the Lexus VIP Hospitality Luncheon Tent, and one boxholder  parking credential.
Individual grandstand box seat: $135, which includes premier seating at the finish line. Watch the races from the best seats at the race course, and dine with the winning owners and trainers in the Post and Paddock Club presented by Aberdeen Catery Luncheon Tent on the mound next to the Grandstand.
