It is two weeks and counting for patrons who purchased reserved parking spaces and/or grandstand boxes for last year’s Carolina Cup races to renew their order for the 2012 edition of the event.The race date for the 80th running of the Camden spring classic is set for Saturday, March 31.Carolina Cup officials sent out invitations to all those on their mailing list last month.In order for last year’s space and/or box holders to secure their former space, their payment must be received by Friday, Feb. 17 at 5 p.m. If payment is not received that time, the space may be sold.Once again this year, those purchasing $30 general admission tickets by Saturday, March 17 will get a $15 discount from the $45 price which will be charged after that date as well as at the gates the day of the races.There is also new ticket deal for those who purchase their tickets in advance.The gates to the Springdale Race Course will open to the general public at 9 a.m. with the first of six and/or seven races set to take to the course at 1:30 p.m. The day’s feature is the $50,000 Carolina First Carolina Cup (Grade II) Steeplechase.Here are the ticket and reserved parking options for the Carolina Cup races: General Admission tickets: $30, prior to Saturday, March 17. All tickets purchased after that time and date and at the gate the day of the races will be $45.(Children 11 years of age and under will be admitted to the races fee, if accompanied by an adult ticket holder.)Official Carolina Cup ticket and T-shirt promotion: For $50, patrons will receive a race ticket along with an official 2012 Carolina Cup T-shirt. There are a limited number of T-shirts available for this promotion which ends Saturday, March 17.Infield: $215 per parking space.
