After having knocked at the door in her first two starts over fences -- both coming this year -- Eastern Starlett raced her way into the winners’ circle for Camden-based trainer Arch Kingsley on Sunday at Colonial Downs.Sent off as the 3.30-to-1 race favorite, the 7-year-old mare wired the starting field of seven in a $15,000 maiden chase at the New Kent, Va., facility. It was the first win in six career starts for the granddaughter of 1988 Preakness and Belmont winner Risen Star, which did not race for nearly four years between August of 2008 to her debut over fences at the Sport of Queens Hurdle at the 2012 Carolina Cup on March 31. She was second that day.Owned by the Georgia-based Marethon Stable, Eastern Starlett was second in her next start, a $15,000 maiden at the Queens Cup in Mineral Springs, N.C., on April 28.
