The $100,000 Marion duPont Scott Colonial Cup has attracted 13 accomplished nominees, promising a large and talented field for the year’s final major steeplechase race on Saturday, Nov. 19. The featured event of the 42nd annual Colonial Cup meet at the Springdale Course in Camden, the 2 3/4-mile race to be run for the first time over National Fences, often plays an important role in determining the year’s Eclipse Award winner. Among the nominees are a pair of jumpers which are currently leading the heated competition for the National Steeplechase Association’s Lonesome Glory Champions Award, bestowed on the year’s leading earner.
