Get Stormy shook off the doldrums from his 12th place finish in last November’s TVG Breeders’ Cup Mile by winning his first race of 2012 by wiring Saturday’s $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap (Gr. 1) in Hallandale Beach, Fla.The 6-year-old Sullimar Stable’s horse was developed in Camden at Donna Freyer’s Custom Care Equine.Get Stormy’s win highlighted an uneven day for runners with Camden connections at Gulfstream as Augustin Stable’s Ever So Lucky, trained by part-time Camden resident and Hall of Fame conditioner Jonathan Sheppard, was scratched from the $150,000 Hutcheson Stakes on Saturday morning.Sheppard indicated to reporters at the track that the graded stakes-placed Ever So Lucky was being pointed to the $150,000 Swale Stakes (Gr. 2) at Gulfstream on March 10.
