Every Way celebrated the final day of her 2-year-old campaign by ending the old year with a victory.Developed in Camden at Kip Elser’s Kirkwood Stables, the now-3-year-old City Zip filly scored her second win in four career starts by edging Flashy Gal by a neck in a $47,000 race at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans.Trained by Michael Stidham, who gave James Graham a leg up, Every Way bumped into another horse at the start of the one-mile run on the turf and was six-wide at the first turn. Never worse than third in the starting pack of eight, Graham took his mount to front after three-quarters of a mile only to be challenged by Propelleroneway at the top of the stretch. The win was the second for Every Way, who broke her maiden at first asking on Aug. 25, 2012 at Arlington Park. She has now earned $75,577 from her four starts which includes two wins and a third place finish. Also on New Year’s Eve, another Kirkwood grad, Sumo, won a $30,000 claiming race at Aqueduct for trainer Nick Canani.
