The winner had Carlos Marquez Jr. in the irons. In six lifetime starts, Spartiatis has a win and a second and $56,804 in earnings. On that same day at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas, Kirkwood grad Dancin Lil, trained by Danny Caldwell, won for the fifth time in 21 lifetime starts with a score in a $62,000 allowance race. David Mello was up for the win which came by a comfortable 4 ¾-lengths.The victory was the second in a row and third in four starts for the 5-year-old Fusaichi Pegasus mare which has earned $140,793.Not to be outdone on Sunday was former CCE resident Image of Anna.
