What opened with a field of 12 nominations has been pared to nine for Saturday’s 81st running of the $75,000 Carolina Cup, a 2 1/8-mile jump race over National Fences for novice jumpers. The first of six races at the Springdale Race Course in Camden is set for 1:30 p.m. The gates to the facility will swing open to the public at 9 a.m. Nine-time NSA champion trainer Jack Fisher kept two jumpers --- Dye Fore and Special Skills --- in a field which also includes Camden’s Sue Sensor’s Cash Crop, trained in Camden by Arch Kingsley with Camden’s Will McCarthy in the irons. Owned by Gil Johnston, Dye Fore will return to the scene of his most recent triumph.
