Experience the thrill of the greatest timber race in the world as the National Steeplechase Museum presents a photo exhibition of the past twenty winners of the Maryland Hunt Cup.It has been said that the Hunt Cup is the stiffest cross country race in America and the number one timber classic in the world. The Maryland classic began in 1894 and is held annually at 4 p.m. on the last Saturday of April. Its rich history has been recorded in Stuart Rose’s 1931 The Maryland Hunt Cup, John Rossell’s 1973 “The Maryland Hunt Cup – Past and Present”, and endless efforts by Margaret Worrell to ensure that the remarkable heritage of the event is preserved forever.
