It was called, by many in the horse racing industry, the most anticipated maiden race in the history of the sport. And, on Friday at Hollywood Park, Eblouissante did not disappoint. The 3-year-old half-sister to 2010 Horse of the Year and racing icon Zenyatta and daughter of Bernadini, was developed by Mickey Preger Jr. at his barn located on the grounds of the Camden Training Center.Making her debut at the same race track over which Zenyatta began her storied career with a victory nearly five years to the day, Eblouissante went off as the 7-to-5 favorite in the $45,000 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-old fillies which drew a starting field of eight. Eblouissante was running in seventh as the field started heading for home. At the slight urging of jockey Corey Nakatani, Eblouissante started picking off horses with little trouble as she moved to second at the top of the stretch.
