Nereid, a 3-year-old filly developed in Camden at the barn of Mickey Preger Jr., finished in a dead-heat win with Cambina in Sunday’s $250,000 American Oaks (Gr. 1) race at Hollywood Park. Nereid’s connections are the same as those of Eblouissante, a half-sister to 2010 Horse of the Year Zenyatta, who trained in Camden under Preger for some six months before being sent to trainer John Shirreff’s barn at Hollywood Park in May.
