With plenty of horse beneath him and nothing but green grass and opportunity to his right, Ross Geraghty unleashed the fury that is Dawalan two jumps from home. The end result of the well-time, if not calculated, move was a 5 ¼-length romp to victory in Saturday’s 46th running of the $100,000 Marion DuPont Scott Colonial Cup Steeplechase. The impressive win was the 5-year-old Azamour gelding’s second in three American starts and second straight after having won the $300,000 Grand National in Far Hills, N.J., last month for owner Irvin Naylor.
