It was a winning and profitable weekend for several Camden-developed runners who made their way onto the race tracks at Delaware Park and Chicago’s Arlington Park. St. John’s River, prepared in Camden under the watchful eye of Nancy Terhune, captured Saturday’s $300,000 Delaware Oaks. The 1 1/16-mile race was the first start for the 3-year-old by Include out of Adventurous Di since finishing second, by a neck, behind Plum Pretty in the $1 million Kentucky Oaks on May 6.
