For at least this one cold and soggy Saturday, Aiken’s Ford Conger Field could have been dubbed Springdale Race Course south. In the six races from that day’s National Steeplechase Association season opener, five of the six winners had an association to Camden, whether it was by owner, trainer or rider. The afternoon’s feature, the $50,000 Budweiser Imperial Cup (Gr. III), was won by Camden’s Sue Sensor’s Sunshine Numbers by a more than comfortable 11 lengths. The record-breaking 2011 Carolina Cup winner was ridden by his trainer, Camden’s Arch Kingsley.Kingsley was hardly the lone Camdenite to double up on Saturday.
