DALZELL -- Given an opportunity to strengthen its hold on American Legion baseball League IV’s fourth spot and a state playoff berth, Dalzell-Shaw took full advantage with a 6-4 win over Kershaw County on Friday. With the win, the Jets moved to 5-8 on a night in which all their runs came as the result of six Post 17 errors. The win came with a little bit of drama as KC loaded the bases in the top of the ninth and plated two before Jets pitcher Jeremy Buckner got a called third strike to leave runners on the corners.KC struck early against Jets starter David Hayden, pushing across two runs in the first. Blake Outlaw drew a walk, took second on a wild pitch and moved to third on a Cody Mailly single. Outlaw and Mailly both scored on a Kal Davis triple.Dalzell answered with the first of its six unearned runs in the bottom of the inning.
