With the school year ended, it is time for summer sports camps in Kershaw County.
Here is a listing of the camps which will be held next week:
Visions Basketball Camp: Directed by former Camden High and Jacksonville University basketball standout Harvin Council, the annual Visions Basketball Camp is designed for boys and girls basketball players of all skill levels. Assisting Council throughout the week will be college and high school basketball players form in and around the region. Stations will be set up to work on individual skills while free throw shooting contests, three-on-three games, five-on-five games and skills competitions will also be part of the curriculum at this annual camp.

Lugoff-Elgin Baseball Camp: This camp is held at the Lugoff-Elgin High School and is available for youth ages 8 through 13. Beginners through advanced players are welcome. Learn the fundamentals or improve your skills. Instructing the camp will be Randy Stokes, L-E High varsity coach with local players assisting.

North Central All Sport Youth Camp: Members of the North Central High School athletic department will host a three-day camp which will provide instruction in football, baseball, tennis, track, softball, basketball, volleyball and wrestling.
Date: June 4-6; Location: North Central High School; Ages: Grades 1 through 5; Cost: $30 (lunch included): Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; Registration/contact: Coach Louis Clyburn (803-572-2093); Youngsters may also register the morning of June 4 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
KCRD Soccer Camp: This camp is open for boys and girls ages 6-14. Players will be grouped by age, size, and ability. Daily training sessions will include individual ball handling skills, partner skills, developmental games and much more. This fun-filled week is the perfect way to introduce players to the game of soccer and to challenge advanced players to improve their game. Players must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle and soccer ball. The instructor is 21-year coaching veteran Peter Wittig of Blythewood High School.

Camden High Cheerleading Camp: The three-day camp is run by the Camden High School varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders, who will demonstrate and teach cheers, chants, jumps and more.
