SENIOR ALLEN JENNERETTE will help anchor the Lugoff-Elgin defensive line this season. The Demons will play in a pair of football jamborees over the next two Friday nights.
One of the first signs that the summer vacation is coming to an end while the start of the school year is lurking is the Camden Shrine Club Football Jamboree. The traditional curtain-raiser for football in Kershaw County is set to kick off its 37th edition on Friday, Aug. 10 at Camden’s Zemp Stadium. The three mini-games, consisting of one half of football each, begin at 6:30 p.m.The night’s opener will have former conference rivals Buford and North Central squaring off. As opposed to the past two seasons when they met, both teams will play as AA members in 2012 as NC was bumped up from the class A ranks after last season and will play as a member of Region 3-AA. The Knights went 3-7 in Region 3-A last fall under head coach Louis Clyburn, who is in his fourth season at the helm in Boonetown.
