Former Demon Tisdale earns coaching honor in Florida

Former Lugoff-Elgin and Winthrop University baseball standout Eddie Tisdale has been named as the District 4A-13 baseball coach of the year this week by Broward (Fla.) High School Baseball. In his first year at University School, located in Fort Lauderdale, Tisdale led the Suns to a 15-6 record and a 10-2 mark in conference play, earning the top seed in the post-season tournament. The Suns finished the year ranked sixth in Broward County.Tisdale was also selected as head coach for the National team in the 2013 Power Showcase Home Run Derby and All-American Games in Marlins Park in January.Tisdale will be representing University School as a coach alongside two of his seniors, Mike White (University of South Florida commit, 7-1, 43 IP, 49 K) and Shane Wise (uncommitted, 4-0, 4 SVs, 23.1 IP 29 Ks) in the BHSB Senior All Star Game on June 1 at Westminster Academy in Ft.
