Golf, softball tourneys will benefit Donald Hinson

A pair of benefit events to aid Kershaw County resident Donald Wayne Hinson and his battle with an illness will be held over the course of the next two weeks.

On Saturday, May 21, a charity golf tournament will be played over the White Pines Golf Club in Camden beginning at 8 a.m.

The entry fee is $50 per player or, $200 per four-person team. The cost includes golf, use of a golf cart and food following the completion of play.

Mulligans may be purchased for $5 each with a limit of two per player. There will also be prizes for closest to the pin and for the longest drive on designated holes.

On Friday, May 27, there will be a benefit softball tournament for Donald Hinson to be played at the Riverview Softball Complex at Larry Doby Park in Camden.

The entry fee for the one-pitch, double elimination tourney is $200 per team. There is a four home run per game limit with the option to by six more home runs per game for $5 each. There will also be a home run derby contest with a $10 per player entry fee.

The tournament kicks off at 6:30 p.m. and concessions will be available throughout the night.
