Gray ties for sixth in CGA Jr. tourney

Tyler Gray of Lugoff finished tied for sixth in the 67th Carolina Golf Association Junior Boys’ Championship played over The Windermere Club in Blythewood last Tuesday through Thursday. Playing the searing heat, Gray, a rising junior at Thomas Sumter Academy and the defending SCISA state individual champion fired a three-round 218 which was 13 stokes off the winning pace set by Jacob Bridgeman of Inman. A member of the Camden Country Club, Gray opened the tournament by firing an even-par 72 which was three strokes off the pace set by Bridgeman.
