WILL HICKS IS ALL smiles after having won the Grainger Kornegay Memorial Junior Golf Championships. The Camden High School golfer is flanked by C. Grainger Kornegay III, son of the tournaments namesake (left) and Camden County Club head professional Matt McCarley, who is also Hicks golf coach at Camden High.
It has been a pretty memorable year on the golf course for Will Hicks. Earlier this spring, the rising freshman at Camden High School, helped lead the Bulldogs’ golf team to a 10th place finish in the AAA state golf championships by shooting a pair of 81 in the 36-hold state tournament. Earlier this week, Hicks capped his summer season by winning the annual Grainger Kornegay Memorial Junior Golf Championships, played at the Camden Country Club.
