Camden’s Stephen Carmon was placed on the disabled list on Monday, retroactive to Sunday, June 9, by the Fort Wayne TinCaps, the San Digeo Padres’ affiliate in the class A Midwest League. According to an official with the TinCaps, it appears as if Carmon’s season will come to an early end as he will have to undergo surgery on a torn ligament in his right hand. Carmon sustained the injury while diving for a ball in a game this past weekend.Prior to his injury, the 23-year-old shortstop was hitting .253 with eight doubles, three triples and one home run and 14 runs batted in 50 games.
