It's tourney time for county teams

DIAMOND ROBINSON and the CHS High girls will play in the Apple Classic in Walhalla this week.
After a break prior to Christmas, Kershaw County’s basketball and wrestling teams will head back to the hardwood and the mat, respectively, for pre-New Year’s Day events this week.In boy’s basketball, Lugoff-Elgin heads to Chesterfield on Tuesday to begin play in the three-day Farm Bureau Insurance Classic at Chesterfield High School. Also beginning Tuesday, the Camden girls’ basketball team will make the long trip to Oconee County to participate in the Apple Classic to be held at Walhalla High School. The Lady Bulldogs will take on the tournament hostesses in round one play of the three-day, eight-team tournament.The North Central girls’ basketball team will make the short trip to Kershaw to play in the Andrew Jackson Christmas Invitational which opens Wednesday and continues Thursday.
