Jenerette wins Seahawk Slam crown
L-ES ALLEN JENERETTE WRESTLED his way to the 220-pound championship at last weekends USMC Seahawk Slam held at Hilton Head High School.
Allen Jenerette had a fairly easy trip in winning the 220-pound weight division in helping Lugoff-Elgin to a fourth-place finish in last weekend’s USMC Seahawk Slam held at Hilton Head High School.Jenerette worked his way through four opponents en route to his championship. In the finale, the Demon senior defeated Alec Davis of Camden County (Ga.), 5-2.Camden County won the 30-team event with 265 points which was well ahead of runner-up Summerville, which finished with 184.5. Eastside was next with 175 points followed by L-E with 144.After Jenerette, the next-best finish for Evan Moxie’s charges was a runner-up from senior Jerelle Hannah at 182 pounds. Hannah won his first two of his first three matches by pins before losing to Mike Fernandez of Eastside in the finals, 8-2.Hannah’s runner-up finish came one weekend after he won his weight class championship in the May Plant Credit Union Holiday Classic hosted by Lugoff-Elgin.L-E junior Chris Jackson lost his second match of the event at 126 pounds, but won his next three bouts in wrestling his way to third-place in that division.Harrison Kruger gave the Demons additional points when he went 3-2 at 152 pounds.
