Lugoff-Elgin High School will host the Kershaw County Fellowship of Christian Athletes Rally on Monday, Feb. 22 from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. inside the school auditorium.
The guest speaker for the evening will be Jack Easterby, team chaplain for the New England Patriots. Guest testimony will be given by 2013 L-EHS graduate Megan Kirkland, who recently completed her junior season as a member of the a University of South Carolina volleyball team.
Kirkland, a 5-foot-7 Libero for the Gamecocks, was selected to the 2014 Southeastern Conference Community Service Team and has been a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll including the fall 2015 semester. This past season, Kirkland led the Gamecocks with 328 digs (3.01 per set), was second on the Gamecocks with 56 assists, an average of .51 per set, second on the squad in serving with 355 attempts while her .946 service percentage was third on the team.
Defensively, Kirkland was second in serve receptions with 481 and second with a .967 percentage. She finished ninth on the team in scoring with .23 points per set.
Easterby was formerly the chaplain for the University of South Carolina FCA and has worked with the Kansas City Chiefs as well as serving as “character coach” for Dawn Staley’s USC Gamecocks’ women’s basketball team.
In addition, the evening’s worship will be led by Campbell Jacobs and the Fuse Praise Band.
