KC Gamecock Club meeting will focus on USC football

Camden native and University of South Carolina offensive line coach Shawn Elliott will return home as the guest speaker for the Kershaw County Gamecock Club’s spring meeting.

The annual event will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at Old South & Catery, 509 Dicey Ford Road in Camden. The program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Elliott is a 1991 graduate of Camden High School and was an all-state defensive end for the Bulldogs’ 1990 AAA state championship team. He is entering his seventh season as a member of the Gamecocks’ football staff and served as interim coach for the program following Steve Spurrier’s resignation midway through the 2015 campaign He was the only member of Spurrier’s staff to be retained by first-year USC head coach Will Muschamp.

The spring meeting is open to all Gamecock fans and those attending do not have to be a member of the KC Gamecock Club in order to attend.

The evening will begin with the doors to Old South & Catery being open at 6 p.m. with food being served at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance or, $15 at the door the night of the event.
