The Knights then held their breath as a last-second 3-point attempt by the Panthers missed the mark at the buzzer in the Region 3-A opener for both teams.The two-point win gave NC, which entered the game as the state’s ninth-ranked class A squad, a 9-5 overall record.Rashad Reed led all scorers with a 28-point game for the hosts which fell to NC, 76-48, in a holiday tournament game played in Boonetown on Dec. 29.This time around, the Knights did not take the lead for the first time until there were a little more than two minutes left in the contest. The guests trailed, 21-14, after one quarter and 35-30 at halftime.
