L-E girls take pair from Camden

After having an easy go of it in the first game, Lugoff-Elgin held its breath in holding off rival Camden to record the sweep in Saturday’s doubleheader played at Dogfest.The visiting Lady Demons won the first of two five inning contests, 9-0, before taking the second, 4-3.Erin Blizzard shut the Lady Bulldogs down on two hits in the opener in which she allowed one walk while striking out four batters.Taylor Rawl, Kenyatta Anderson and Bailey Lunsford each had two-hit games for with winners with Rawl smacking a pair of doubles, scoring three times and plating a run. Anderson scored twice and stole two bases while Lunsford drove in and scored a run.Meagan Owens got the start and the win in the nightcap as she went all five frames, allowing three runs on seven hits. She struck out four and walked a batter.Anderson drove in half of L-E’s runs while Delaney Guerrero went 2-for-2 while scoring a run for the Lady Demons, who evened their record at 9-9 on the season.
