Getting a combined two-hit shutout from a trio of pitchers, Lugoff-Elgin opened play in the Kershaw-Richland Wooden Bat Tournament with a 9-0 victory over in-county foe North Central Monday night at American Legion Park in Camden. The Demons (12-4) started Hunter Coleman, who went the first four frames before giving way to Jay Lynch, who was returning to the lineup after having been sidelined with an eye malady. All Lynch would do was to fan five in a two-inning stint before Zac Branham worked the seventh.
