Midway through the first set of Thursday’s match with rival Camden, Lugoff-Elgin head volleyball coach Jessica Mullins started clearing her bench. And, the Lady Demons never skipped a beat.In what has been a see-saw series between the two neighboring schools, Lugoff-Elgin took all the suspense out of this one in methodical fashion following up a 25-12 romp in the opening set by putting a quick end to the evening with a 25-16 win in the nightcap in a match played inside the Demons Den.Earlier in the evening, the two county squads both squared off against Lexington with the visiting Wildcats topping Camden in two games before L-E downed their fellow 4A foes, 25-15 and 25-23.“About halfway through the first set and then, the whole second set, we had our second string in to get them some touches and let those girls play,” Mullins said of the revolving door style substitution pattern against Camden. For the Lady Bulldogs, this was a night which head coach Paige Wilson and her team would rather forget.
