KERSHAW --- Tears flowed down the cheeks of Savannah Starling. As a Lugoff-Elgin alum and head coach of the school’s softball team, Friday’s 7-3 win over Catawba Ridge meant more than just a game which sent the Lady Demons into this week’s 4A state championship series against Lower state champion Darlington. To Starling, it was the next step in a journey which started seven years ago with members of the senior class which she coaches.
