Banged-up Demons edge Dreher in Carolina Ale House finale

While the regular season was not scheduled to begin until Tuesday, the Lugoff-Elgin baseball roster is already beginning to resemble a MASH unit. In spite of losing starting catcher Devin Walker to mononucleosis, having Josh Ruiz (knee) at less than 100 percent while several other players under the weather with various illnesses and ailments, the Demons still had enough healthy bodies on deck to edge Dreher, 4-3, in the Carolina Ale House pre-season tournament Saturday. L-E finished the annual event with a 2-1 record heading into Tuesday’s regular season and Region 4-4A opener with Richland Northeast.
