On a young and deep Lugoff-Elgin pitching staff, Zack Bowers sometimes gets lost in the shuffle.Well, after his fourth win in five decisions this season, it might be time to deal the sophomore into the game.Bowers worked the first 5.1 innings in helping the Demons to an 8-5 win over Region 4-4A colleague Ridge View in Monday’s first round of the Telasco Alarm Service Camden Spring Break Tournament at American Legion Park. The right-hander, who left with a 6-2 lead, allowed one earned run on five hits with five strikeouts to pick up his second straight win.The victory gave Randy Stokes’ troops a 9-6 overall record and the Demons’ boss another good problem to have as to find a place in the rotation for Bowers, who came through with another quality start on a warm early evening contest.“It was a good outing for him. He needed that, confidence-wise,” Stokes said of Bowers’ performance.Early on, there was some question as to whether Bowers would still be around for the second inning after issuing a one-out walk to Michael Coyle, who took second on a wild pitch before scoring from there on a Mitchell Price single.
