Burr ready to move on after finalizing college plans by signing with USC-L
Burr signing
AMANDA BURR IS FLANKED by her parents, Marsha and Jason Burr, after the Lugoff-Elgin senior signed a national softball letter-of-intent with the University of South Carolina-Lancaster. Looking on from behind, from left, are first-year L-E head softball coach Craig Marlow, USC-L head softball coach Alan Blankenship and L-E principal Tommy Gladden.
High school seniors, especially those playing a spring sport, have enough on their plates when it comes to what is usually a busy time of year for them. For Lugoff-Elgin’s Amanda Burr, the weight on her shoulders from here through graduation just became a bit lighter after the Lady Demons’ middle infielder secured her college plans for the next two years as she signed a national softball letter-of-intent with the University of South Carolina-Lancaster last Friday morning. With the start of L-E’s softball season a little more than a week away, Burr beamed when asked how important it was to have her college plans laid out for her before she takes to the field for her final campaign as a member of first-year Lady Demons’ head coach Craig Marlow’s squad.
