Demon netters cruise past Ridge View, 6-0

So much for having a letdown.One day after an emotional win over rival Camden, the Lugoff-Elgin tennis team had little trouble in handing visiting Ridge View a 6-0 loss in a Tuesday afternoon match played on the L-E courts.The victory gave the Demons a 3-2 mark after the first go-through in Region 4-4A play while hiking their overall record to 5-3 heading into Thursday’s conference match at Spring Valley.Coach Edward Rickwood’s squad was dominant on their home courts in losing just two of the 72 games which were contested.Hunter Horton got the hosts off to a quick start in winning his match at first singles by identical 6-0 scores. Hunter Johnson did likewise as he shut out his opponent at second singles before Austin Close won, 6-0, 6-1, at number three,Justin Tillman had little trouble in taking down his foe at fourth singles by the scores of 6-0, 6-1. Samuel Couilliet closed out singles action with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles.
