Demon wrestlers cruise past pair of region foes

Facing a Lugoff-Elgin wrestling team which was at close to full strength and refocused, visiting Blythewood and Richland Northeast endured the full wrath from the Demons in Wednesday’s Region 4-4A opener at the Demons Den.L-E, which was coming off a ninth-place performance at last weekend’s Wildcat Duals in Lexington, lost just two of the 28 matches on Wednesday in improving to 7-1 in dual matches.“We had a really tough Christmas break dealing with different situations and not being able to put together a full lineup,” said L-E head coach Even Moxie. “We took our lumps over the break and I felt like the boys rebounded well and did what they had to do to win their (Wednesday night) matches.” In the shutout over Blythewood, the Demons received pins from Larry Roby at 106 pounds, Brandon Noel (113), Chris Jackson (120), Andrew Mills (126), Kahlil Cooke (138), Wes Wagner (145), Harrison Kruger (152), Corey Edenfield (160), Ty Miller (170), Wade Branham (182), Zach Connell (195), Johnathan Williams (220) and heavyweight Joey Counts.
