Demon wrestlers run the table in Region 4

L-ES BRANDON NOEL WON the Region 4-4A championship in the 106-pound weight division at Saturdays conference meet held at the Demons Den.
For the second time in as many years, Lugoff-Elgin ruled the Region 4-4A wrestling roost.The Demons sewed up one of four number one seeds and will stay at home for the first two rounds of Saturday’s 4A state tournament (see accompanying box.) L-E wrapped up the conference title by thumping visiting Ridge View, 72-15, and Spring Valley, 69-18, last Wednesday to complete a perfect six-match slate of 4-4A matches.One night later, Evan Moxie’s charges capped a 14-1 dual match campaign with a victory over Camden.The Demons used pins from Brandon Noel (106 pounds), Andrew Mills (120), Dennys Colon (132), Kahlil Cooke (138), Harrison Kruger (152), Corey Edenfield (160) and Zach Connell (195) in the win over Ridge View. The Blazers forfeited four matches and a total of 24 points to Chris Jackson (113), Wade Branham (182), Allen Jenerette (220) and heavyweight Omar Anderson.L-E closed out a perfect region season by getting nine pins in the lopsided win over Spring Valley. Registering pins were Noel, Jackson, Mills, Johnny Murphy (126), Cooke, Kruger, Edenfield, Connell, Jenerette and heavyweight Joey Counts.
