On a night when they were hardly on top of their game, not being at their best still proved to be enough for the Lugoff-Elgin baseball team. Facing a visiting Midland Valley squad, the Demons used a two-run fifth inning to rally from a 3-2 deficit to take a 4-3 victory over the Mustangs in a non-region contest played last Friday at Optimist Field. "It was not one of our better performances of the year," said L-E head coach Randy Stokes after his team improved to 1-0 on the regular season following a 4-0 pre-season tourney showing.
