Demons finish sixth in Beef O'Brady's tourney

Allen Jenerette, Jarelle Hannah and Chris Jackson, all with championship performances, led the Lugoff-Elgin wrestling team to a sixth place finish in the Beef O’Brady’s Championship held at Fort Mill High School last Friday and Saturday.The Demons ended up with 81 points for the 15-team event which was won by the state’s top-ranked 4A squad, Lexington, which had 127. Eastside was next with 115 points.Jenerette, a 220-pounder, was awarded the trophy for the most pins in the event. The senior won each of his three matches by pin including that in the title pairing with Kaleb Hines of R-S Central High School from North Carolina.Hannah, a senior transfer from Chesterfield, wrestled his way to the 182-pound crown with a 3-0 record which included a pin and two wins by decision, the second of those being against Collin Johnson out of North Gaston (N.C.) High School.Jackson, a junior, took the 126-pound championship, also with three wins.
