Showing that they can play at a more moderate pace than the up and down the court style which they favor, Lugoff-Elgin used a more determined second half effort to come away with a 52-46 win over visiting Darlington Tuesday night. Not only did the host Demons rinse the bad taste from their mouths supplied by the Falcons in a 29-point loss earlier last month but the victory put Garrett Knight’s charges on the cusp of a state playoff berth. L-E (2-4 in Region 6-4A), which has tonight off, closes the regular season next Tuesday and Wednesday with road games with Lakewood and Hartsville, respectively.
