As steep as the learning curve was for the Lugoff-Elgin football team this past season, it may be an even greater challenge for the Demons’ wrestlers, which will open a new chapter in the program’s rich history tonight when York and 2009 4A state champion Rock Hill come into the Demons Den. In the past 13 years, the Demons won the AAA state wrestling crown on five occasions with the most recent being a season ago when first-year head coach Evan Moxie and his troops blistered Hilton Head, 40-17, in what was L-E’s parting shot to the AAA ranks. In the fall, Scott Jones’ Demons raced to the Region 6-4A crown with a 4-1 league record.
