Demons place 22nd in Southern Slam

Led by a team-best sixth-place finish from senior 160-pounder Jacob Carrron, the Lugoff-Elgin wrestling team finished in 22nd place in last weekend’s Southern Slam hosted by Eastside High school. The Demons, who host Rock Hill and Spring Valley tonight at 6 p.m. inside the L-E Wellness Center, received 16 points from Carron, who finished the two-day event with a 4-3 record including three pins. Senior heavyweight Seth Branham went 4-2 with three pins and scored 15 points for Ted Monroe’s charges who finished with 67 points.
