Demons return home from Rock Hill with tourney title
L-ES ALLEN JENERETTE PINNED his opponent in the heavyweight division consolation finals to put the Demons over the top in winning last weekends Bearcat Invitational at Rock Hill High School.
Getting three individual championships was nice, but it was a win in the consolation finals which provided the icing on the cake for the Lugoff-Elgin wrestling team which captured last weekend’s 31st annual Bearcat Invitational, hosted by Rock Hill High School. Battling North Carolina’s J.M. Robinson High School for the title, L-E sophomore Allen Jenerette pinned Olympic's (N.C.) Redd Hickson to take third place in the heavyweight division consolation finals --- in the final match of the evening --- which helped give the Demons their 253-point total. J.M. Robinson was second with 249.5 points.Evan Moxie’s troops received championship performances in three straight weight divisions.
