Lugoff-Elgin and Richland Northeast played a game for the ages Friday night at Harry Parone Stadium on the campus of Spring Valley High School. And on what turned out to be game’s final play, the Demons stuffed a run by Cavaliers quarterback Terrance Purdie on a two-point conversion attempt to seal a 35-34 L-E win in double overtime.
