Holding what was an impromptu pep rally with his wrestlers following Monday’s 36-27 loss to visiting Dorman in the 4A Upper State semifinals, Lugoff-Elgin head coach Ted Monroe played the role of ringleader in a fiery speech as to the upward trajectory of the program. A few minutes later, just steps beside where his team was running post-match laps, the first-year Demon boss struck a more somber tone. He admitted to one well-wisher that he was not in a very good place after the gut-wrenching loss.
