COLUMBIA – At an hour of the day when some people were finishing lunch, the Lugoff-Elgin baseball team was putting the final touches on a busy Wednesday morning/early afternoon at the seventh annual Forest Acres Classic. Due to Monday night’s storms which hit the Midlands, the Demons’ Tuesday morning opener with Dreher was pushed back a day to an 8 a.m. start, turning the regularly scheduled four-game day into a quintupleheader. The early morning start seemed to have left both offenses a bit groggy as L-E came away with a 2-1 win over the Blue Devils.
