No baseball coach ever tells his pitcher that he needs to be close to perfect in their final pre-game talk in order for their team to have a chance at coming away with a victory. And Lugoff-Elgin skipper Randy Stokes said no such thing to Justin Dorton as the freshman took the mound for the Demons’ most important game of the season, to this point. With the winner of Friday’s game at Optimist Field getting a leg up in the Region 4-4A standings, Dorton did all he could and then some, only to be the hard-luck loser in a 2-0 loss to the visiting Bengals.
