First came the shriek; a sound which Von Duncan has heard way too many times this season. Then, as the Lugoff-Elgin girls’ basketball head coach knelt beside her player, sophomore guard Saige McLeod, who was clutching her left knee while being tended to by a pair of team trainers, Duncan cast her eyes toward the heavens as if to ask, "What’s next?" In a season in which three Lady Demons have already been felled by ACL injuries, McLeod’s falling to the floor with 2:29 left in the first quarter of what became a 61-15 L-E loss was feared to be the fourth such ailment.
