L-E opens tough closing stretch
ALDREACIO WELLS ... L-E running back
One game removed from having ended its 23-game losing skid, the latest obstacle thrown in Lugoff-Elgin’s path is taking on the strongest teams in Region 4-4A in the final trio of regular season games. That daunting stretch opens tonight when the Demons head back to Blythewood Stadium for the second time in as many Fridays when they take on the host Blythewood Bengals. One week ago, Scott Jones and company were looking for a win over Ridge View to thrust themselves back into the state playoff picture. Instead, the Demons came out flat as the Blazers jumped to a 34-0 lead en route to a 41-14 victory. The L-E team which answered the bell the previous week in a 31-10 victory over Richland Northeast was, mentally, still in the dressing room when things got going.Jones said he was still trying to put his finger on his squad’s rough start.“I was very disappointed in last week,” he said.
